Vice President of Student Success and Student Life

The University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) is seeking applications and nominations for the position of Vice President of Student Success and Student Life. The successful candidate will possess a record of accomplishment of effective, innovative, and inclusive transformational leadership that champions student success. The Vice President reports to the President, and the desired start date for this position is July 1, 2025.

UHD is a comprehensive four-year university with an enrollment of 14,000 students that offers bachelor’s and master’s degree programs aimed at career preparation. The University is in the heart of downtown Houston, one of the nation’s most culturally diverse metropolitan areas and offers the lowest public university tuition in Houston.

The Division of Student Success and Student Life offers student-centered services, programs, and experiences that promote excellence, stimulate discovery, celebrate differences, and challenge students’ growth, development, involvement, and success. This portfolio of experiences is designed to meet a broad spectrum of student needs, interests, and aspirations. The Vice President is responsible for enhancing access, retention, student learning, student success, and completion as well as for shaping and driving the strategic vision for student life.
