Description

We are accepting applications on an on-going basis for future consideration for a temporary Curriculum Specialist assignment at Oxnard College. Applications submitted to this pool will be kept on file and may be considered if a vacancy opens within the academic year.

This recruitment is being conducted to fill a temporary assignment and not being conducted to establish an eligibility list from which regular appointments will be made, as such this recruitment may close at any time. Employees hired in this capacity are considered at will and do not accrue property interest in the assignment and are not eligible for benefits.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, coordinate, prioritize, and organize activities related to curriculum development, review, approval, publication, and related data management.

Representative Duties

Coordinate the development of the curriculum process timeline; provide information and assistance to faculty, staff, and administrators regarding timelines, policies, and procedures related to curriculum development. E

Evaluate new and modified curriculum proposals to ensure state and College guidelines are met; track the status of curriculum proposals throughout the approval process; respond to requests for additional information; notify departments of approval results. E

Provide administrative support for the Curriculum Committee and associated work groups; prepare and distribute agendas for committee meetings; attend meetings and prepare minutes; post committee documents; initiate and track follow-up to committee recommendations. E

Establish timelines and coordinate the production of the college catalog; compile, organize, and integrate input from divisions and departments pertaining to catalog content; proofread submitted materials for accuracy and consistency. E

Design, update, and maintain the College’s course catalog websites, as well as curriculum committee and related websites. E

Audit, enter, and validate course, program, and articulation data elements into various software programs including the curriculum management system and the State curriculum inventory; monitor data for compliance with state and college regulations; review course data elements in student information systems, as needed. E

Coordinate and facilitate the submission of curricula and programs to the California Community College system office; assist with the management of curriculum inventory at both the state and local levels. E

Serve as a functional expert for curriculum management software programs and modules; test and review systems upgrades; troubleshoot systems issues; transfer and reconcile data between programs; upload data to the State Chancellor’s Office, the California Community College System Office, accrediting bodies and other organizations as needed; set up user permissions in various databases. E

Maintain a wide variety of records and data, including articulation agreements, library resources of college catalogs pertaining to articulation and curriculum transfer, and articulation records; maintain college curriculum archives, retrieve and distribute information as required. E

Provide guidance and training to faculty and staff on the usage of the curriculum management system as well as documentation needed for curriculum development, modification, and maintenance. E

Serve as an informational resource regarding curriculum issues, responding to requests, inquiries, and questions from administrators, faculty, staff, and students. E

Research information; create and run queries, compile data and prepare a wide variety of periodic and special statistical reports related to instructional activities, curriculum, and related matters. E

Work collaboratively and professionally with faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, and ethnic communities. E

Demonstrate cultural humility, sensitivity, and equity-mindedness in working with individuals from diverse communities; model inclusive behaviors; and achieve equity in assignment-related outcomes. E

Perform related duties as assigned.

E = Essential duties

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or evidence of equivalent education proficiency and three years of technical clerical experience including proofreading documents and maintaining records, at least one year of which must have been gained working in an institution of higher education.

OR

An associate degree from a recognized college or university and two years of technical clerical experience including proofreading documents and maintaining records.

OR

A bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university and one year of technical clerical experience including proofreading documents and maintaining records.

    2. End date: 11/30/24 (may end prior to this)
  • Working hours.
    1. M-F; 9AM-5PM
    2. 30 hrs/week
