Laboratory

This position will manage and contribute to Dave Sobel’s research on children's causal reasoning developing social cognition, parent-child interaction and learning. The Lab Manager will participate in all facets of the research program.

This is technical work involved in organizing, coordinating, and maintaining supplies, equipment, and instructional support services for a college Simulation Laboratory.

The Administrative Coordinator for the Center on the Biology of Aging provides high-level administrative and operational support to the Director and its faculty including complex project management, laboratory research support, instructional and professional activity support, and event planning.

The research assistant will assist in conducting two studies. The first involves testing the feasibility of a continuous alcohol monitor and includes both laboratory and field-based components (i.e., ecological momentary assessment). The second study is an national online study of perinatal mental health and substance use.

The lab manager will support a variety of projects funded by NIH as well as pilot projects, support PI in grant writing and development of new projects, and manage a diverse team of staff and student research assistants.

Select, train, and schedule tutors and student personnel assigned to the center; provide instructional and technical assistance to students, faculty, and others.

This position oversees operations, major repair, and training in the use of isotope ratio mass spectrometers (e.g., gas-source, inductively coupled plasma) in the Department of Earth, Environmental and Planetary Sciences at Brown.
