The American Cancer Society has presented its annual Fredda Bryan National Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award to Angelo Moore, executive director of the Center of Excellence for Integrative Health Disparities and Equity Research at North Carolina A&T State University.

Dr. Cameron comes to Palo Alto University from the University of San Diego where she is an associate professor in the School of Leadership and Education Sciences. She has served in progressive administrative and leadership capacities since 2009.

Since 2015, Professor Nelson has served as dean of the American University Washington College of Law. She previously served as dean of the Suffolk University Law School in Boston and earlier was on the faculty at the law school at Saint Louis University.

Two sociologists at Rice University in Houston, Texas, found that working Black adults with “racial capital,” or high awareness of the systemic nature of racism, were seven times more likely to pursue self-employment than those with low awareness.

The study asked more than 20,000 adults over the age of 51 if they had visited a dentist over the past two years. Some 71 percent of participants responded yes. But there was a significant difference between Blacks and Whites.

The Obama Foundation has selected the Columbia Center for Oral History Research to produce the official oral history of Barack Obama's presidency. The University of Hawai'i and the University of Chicago will also serve as contributing partners for the project.

Professor Carter, who holds a a master of fine arts degree in dance from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, also serves as director of the dance program at the University of Alabama and as artistic director of the Alabama Repertory Dance Theatre.

Dr. Kelly served as vice president at Loyola University in Chicago from 2009 to March of this year. Previously, he was vice president for student development at Seattle University.

The Barack Obama foundation has narrowed the field of candidates to host the Obama Presidential Library to Columbia University, the University of Chicago, the University of Illinois at Chicago, and the University of Hawaii.

The results of the study of 400 undergraduate students at the University of Hawaii showed that the sleepier the test subject, the more likely they were to rate prospective job candidates with Black-sounding names unqualified for the position.
