North Carolina A&T State University, the historically black educational institution in Greensboro, received a two-year, $200,000 grant from the National Science Foundation. The university’s Engineering Research Center will use the grant to design and test an innovative device for spinal fusion operations. The research will develop the appropriate magnesium alloy to be used in spinal fusions and design the device that will be used to implement the procedure.
