Loren Blanchard Named Executive Vice Chancellor for the California State University System

loren-blanchard-thumbLoren J. Blanchard was named executive vice chancellor for academic and student affairs for the California State University System. He has been serving as provost and senior vice president of academic affairs at Xavier University in New Orleans. He is the first person to serve as provost at Xavier. Dr Blanchard will take on his new role in July.

Prior to coming to Xavier University, Dr. Blanchard was the chief academic officer for the University of Louisiana System in Baton Rouge and for the Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans.

Dr. Blanchard is a graduate of Xavier University. He holds a master’s degree in educational administration from McNeese State University in St. Charles, Louisiana, and a doctorate in educational psychology from the University of Georgia.

HBCUs Receive Major Funding From Blue Meridian Partners

The HBCU Transformation Project is a collaboration between the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), and Partnership for Education Advancement. Forty HBCUs are currently working with the project and additional campuses are expected to join this year. The partnership recently received a $124 million investment from Blue Meridian Partners.
