Jeffrey Boyd Will Be the Next President of Rochester Community and Technical College

The board of trustees of Minnesota Colleges and Universities has appointed Jeffery Boyd as president of Rochester Community and Technical College. Dr. Boyd will take office on July 1.

Rochester Community and Technical College, located southeast of Minneapolis, enrolls nearly 5,300 students, according to the latest data supplied to the U.S. Department of Education. African Americans make up 10 percent of the student body.

Dr. Boyd currently serves as provost and chief operating officer at Tidewater Community College in Norfolk, Virginia. From 2006 to 2014, he served in several posts including dean of Business and Career Technologies at Elgin Community College in Illinois.

Dr. Boyd is a graduate of Judson College in Illinois. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Phoenix and a doctorate in community college leadership from National Louis University.
