Morehouse College Launches Transfer Agreement With Borough of Manhattan Community College

Recently, Borough of Manhattan Community College established transfer agreements with two HBCUs, Clark Atlanta University and Bowie State University, opening the door for community college students to enroll in bachelor’s degree programs at a historically Black institution. Now, BMCC has launched a new partnership with Morehouse College in Atlanta, the country’s only historically Black college for men.

Building on a formerly established admissions program between the two institutions, the BMCC-Morehouse Transfer Dual Admissions Pathway Program will provide eligible students from BMCC with guaranteed admission to bachelor’s degree programs through Morehouse College and Morehouse College Online. This includes Morehouse’s dual-degree engineering program, which provides students the opportunity to learn from both Morehouse College and top engineering schools at universities across the country.

“This renewed MOU strengthens our shared mission of providing young men with a clear pathway to a Morehouse education, ensuring they are academically prepared and well-supported throughout their transition,” said Morehouse College President David A. Thomas. “Through this collaboration, Morehouse and BMCC will enhance engagement opportunities that familiarize students with the academic rigor, culture, and traditions of Morehouse — ultimately fostering a seamless transfer experience and timely matriculation.”

In addition to the transfer program, the Andrew Young Center for Global Leadership at Morehouse and the Office of Diplomatic Education & Training at BMCC have pledged to collaborate on new academic courses and training opportunities for diplomats.
