Job Description:

The Administrative Coordinator provides administrative, logistical, and course support to faculty members and their research laboratories as well as collaborative support as part of the department administrative team. Primary duties include processing, tracking, paying, and reconciling orders and reimbursements for laboratories as well as other administrative functions including website and publication database maintenance, scheduling and planning travel arrangements, monitoring of account budgets, and event planning. The Administrative Coordinator serves as a liaison between the labs, the MCB finance office, and Brown central offices and helps ensure compliance with sponsor and Brown policies for all expenditures.

Job Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree and 2 years’ administrative support experience, preferably in an educational environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous Workday experience is advantageous.

Job Competencies:

  • Possesses a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive campus community.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), financial programs, database management and web‐ based applications.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Ability to think independently and creatively.
  • Ability to handle multiple deadlines and projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including having a pro‐active and team approach to tasks.
  • Must be detailed oriented.
