Community College of Philadelphia invites nominations and applications for the position of Associate Provost for Academic and Student Success. Reporting to the Provost and Vice President of Academic and Student Success, the Associate Provost will provide strategic leadership and management in support of the Division of Academic and Student Success related to policies, curriculum and program development, retention initiatives, strategic planning and assessment, compliance and accreditation activities, resource development, and professional development for faculty and staff within the Division. The Associate Provost’s specific areas of oversight will include curriculum development, grant administration (Title III/Pathways and Perkins), transfer and articulation, the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning (FCTL), and accreditation.
Community College of Philadelphia is the largest public institution of higher education in Philadelphia and is the sixth largest in Pennsylvania. The College has a Main Campus and three additional service centers that include the Career and Advanced Technology Center, the Northeast Regional Center, and the West Regional Center. The College offers more than 100 degree and certificate programs and serves over 12,000 students approximately 65% of whom are part-time. A dynamic leadership role focused on enhancing academic programs and fostering student success, the new Associate Provost for Academic and Student Success will foster collaboration with faculty, academic deans, student development staff and external communities to advance CCP’s mission of providing an uncompromising focus on student success. Working with the Provost, Deans, and Institutional Research, the Associate Provost for Academic and Student Success will assist in the creation of best practices for the development of data driven program review. By focusing on assessment and retention data, the Associate Provost will work with all areas of the college to close the equity gap between demographic groups and help all students realize their dreams.
The Associate Provost must have a strong commitment to academic excellence and a demonstrated record of innovation and program development, analysis, and evaluation. The successful candidate will be energetic, innovative, versatile, and have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively work with faculty, staff, students, and community groups of diverse backgrounds. The Associate Provost will have at least a master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning, college level teaching experience, and significant management/supervisory experience, preferably in a community college setting. Bilingual candidates are also preferred.
