President

University of Toledo

The University of Toledo (UToledo) seeks a President who embraces and is excited by the exceptional opportunity this University presents to leverage its excellent resources for the 21st century.

UToledo has been improving the lives of students, patients, employees and the community since 1872. The university became a municipal institution in 1884, a member of the state university system in 1967 and merged in July 2006 with the former Medical University of Ohio, which includes a 319 bed hospital. Today, UToledo is a nationally ranked public research university with an academic medical center serving more than 14,400 students engaged in over 400 student organizations and 17 NCAA Division I Rocket Athletics teams.  UToledo is one of 17 universities nationally that offers degrees in Business, Education, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy.

The 19th President of UToledo will need to be an individual with demonstrated successful leadership experience and an entrepreneurial record of effectiveness in orchestrating growth and academic and health care excellence at a large, complex organization equivalent to UToledo’s $1 billion enterprise. The University will consider individuals recruited from higher education with the appropriate academic credentials (e.g., terminal degree and full professor rank), as well as those with other leadership credentials (e.g., holding public office, CEO of a large complex entity).

The detailed position profile and membership of the search committee can be found on the university’s presidential search website: utoledo.edu/presidential-search/
